With a photo book you are telling a story. Pages with white backgrounds can be boring. With the use of different backgrounds your photo book will be more attractive. There are 3 different ways to use backgrounds:

1. Select an Albelli background
With the Albelli photo book creator you can download free backgrounds. There are different themes: baby, wedding, holiday, party and seasons. There is always a background to fit your photo book.

How does it work?
While creating your photo book, select the tab 'Background'. Select 'Background' and select the button 'Download more...'. Here you can download individual backgrounds or groups. When downloading has been completed, you can use the backgrounds as often as you like, for your current or future projects. Select 'Apply' or drag the background on the page. When you select 'current and subsequent pages' the background will be used on those pages as well.

Photos show more contrast when placed on a certain background colour. With the Albelli photo book creator you can select your own background colour matching your photo. Choose a colour which is part of your photo. Define yourself which colour is the best match to your photos.

Select 'create colours' and the colour pallet will be visible. When you want to select a colour from your photo, select 'Select colour from picture'. Now the pencil icon appears which you can use to pick a colour from your photo to define the colour of your background. Enter 'Apply' to use the background colour. When you select 'current and subsequent pages' the background colour will be used on those pages as well.

3. Choose your own photo as a background
A photo book will be even more personal when you use your own photos as a background. With the Albelli photo book creator, you can use your own photo as a background. Photos with a calm characteristic or photos with little colour contrast of fading objects are ideal as a background. Think about a nice landscape image or a detailed shot of a flower.

Enter the camera icon underneath the photo and select the option ‘set as background for current page’. When the resolution is sufficient the photo will appear as a background on the page. You can define the transparency of the photo. Place your mouse on the background photo and in the menu pane on the top you will notice the percentages. Default is 50%. With the arrow you can adjust this.
