Ideas for your Valentine’s photo book

Ideas for your Valentine’s photo book

Mike & Sandra take the simple and minimal approach to capture who they are as a couple. To recreate something similar by taking the ‘less is more’ approach. Limit the use of colours and designs used.

How can you recreate this for your photo book?

1  Determine your colour pallette for your photo book pages.

In this sample, Mike & Sandra used just 3 colours to create these two pages.

These colours make up the colour palette from which they created a consistent look across two pages. Before starting, carefully select 2 photos. The simpler and more alike the photos are the better. Then carefully study its colours to select which set of 3 colours will make up its colour palette.

2  Then use your colour palette to determine the designs you use.

The designs Mike & Sandra used include the ‘Love’ clip art (see below) over which they added text.

Albelli Love clip art

The heart was created using the Grey colour clip art over which a Love mask was applied. To do this go to Insert > Clip art > select the Grey colour under ‘Coloursdrop down menu. Then click the colour and apply the Love mask over it and added text.

The white frame on the right page was created by adding a Border that’s white and adjusting the margin.
